Pieter-Jan Van de Weyer obtained his Master's
degree in Law from the University of Antwerp in 2012. During his studies he
developed a special interest in public law.
Before joining GSJ advocaten, Pieter-Jan was a PhD
student at the Leuven Centre for Public Law (LCPL) at the Catholic University
of Leuven. In this capacity, he was responsible for offering educational
guidance in the field of administrative law. In addition, he wrote a PhD thesis
on the influence of art. 6 of the ECHR in the context of administrative
procedures. He is still a volunteer scientific contributor at the LCPL.
In 2019, Pieter-Jan joined the Bar of Antwerp and
started working for GSJ advocaten. As a member of the Administrative and
Environmental Management Law team, he currently focuses mainly on cases within
the broad scope of environmental management law, offering private clients,
businesses and public authorities expert legal advice and guidance and
conducting court proceedings.
