- Drafting and supervising SIPs, Spatial Structure Planning and Spatial Implementation Plans (both for regional and multiple local administrations as well as assistance to externally privatised agencies), as well as supervising the complex projects Sea Lock Zeebrugge, Extra Container Capacity Port of Antwerp and the Ghent Viaduct.

- As an employee of the specialised department 'Administrative law, environment, spatial planning and urban development' within GSJ, Maarten, together with the members of this department, assists governments and private individuals in the three classic sub-disciplines of spatial planning law: spatial planning, permits and enforcement.

- Maarten focuses not only on the guidance of applications or the submission of notices of objection against applications, but also on procedures in the context of administrative appeals (environmental appeals to the Provincial or Ministerial Deputies, guidance in building committees at municipal level, hearings, provincial or regional environmental permit committees, etc.), as well as on the whole range of issues relating to the construction of buildings. ), as well as the entire range of appeals before the courts / courts of appeal (damage claims, suspension of works, planning damage, soil disputes, zoning alienation, natural law, MER obligation, enforcement / repair claims, etc.) and courts of law (Council of State, Council for Permit Disputes, Environmental Enforcement Court, etc.).

- Assistance regarding transfers of domain assets between authorities and assistance regarding private forms of occupation by individuals and companies: precarious permits, begging occupations, rights in rem and domain concessions and concession of public works, port concessions, etc.

• Permanent guidance and ad hoc assistance to various public authorities

- Cities, municipalities, Flemish Region, intermunicipal companies (MLSO, Interwaas, IGEAN, Veneco) and autonomous agencies (De Vlaamse Waterweg, MOW, Havenbedrijf Antwerpen, OVAM,... ) on issues of General Administrative Law, Environmental Law, Expropriations, Domain Law, Energy Law and Soil Law, ...
