Rudy Van Turnhout launched his career with GSJ
advocaten in the year 2007. Since then, he has specialised in liability law,
insurance law, criminal law and health law. Within these particularly
challenging areas of legal practice, he has assisted public authorities,
businesses and private clients with various types of cases.
Driven by his special interest in personal injury
issues, in 2009 Rudy completed a postgraduate course in physical injury
assessment at the Catholic University of Leuven, and in 2013 he decided to
acquire even more in-depth knowledge of health law as a seconded staff member
responsible for legal affairs at the Antwerp-based hospital and residential
care group GZA. He also devotes much of his time and energy to industrial
accident cases. In addition, in 2014-2015 he lectured at Syntra, where he gave
lessons in industrial accident insurance in the course on insurance
intermediaries.
Mr Van Turnhout is the author of several academic
papers and articles in the field of liability and insurance law and he is a
regular speaker at seminars organised by Escala and Confocus, among others.
As
former secretary and chairman and currently vice-chairman of the Kempische
Verzekeringskring, Rudy has built up an enviable reputation for his
thorough knowledge of current practice in the insurance industry. In addition,
he has experience of corporate management.
Rudy is the holder of a special training certificate in
cassation proceedings in criminal cases and can therefore handle criminal cases
before the Court of Cassation.
