Geert Van Engelgem obtained his Master's degree in Law, specialising in Public Law, at the University of Antwerp. In 2019, he focused on gaining practical experience, both at home and abroad. He did an internship at the Permanent Representation of Belgium to the United Nations in Geneva, where he worked on cases within the Human Rights Council and the Universal Periodic Review mechanism. In addition, in the summer of that same year, he worked as a volunteer legal assistant in Cape Town, where he applied his legal knowledge in an international context. After this valuable experience, he completed his academic training with a Master's degree in International and European Law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
Since September 2020, he has been affiliated with GSJ Advocaten, where he is part of the Real Estate, Construction Law and Public Procurement department. In this practice, he combines his legal expertise with a strong interest in issues relating to the award of public contracts and construction law in a broad sense.
